Our Mission
Valkyrie Productions is a New England based non profit with three key objectives:
Offer high-quality performance opportunities for young artists of all financial backgrounds
Create original, immersive shows in historic and non-traditional spaces
Introduce classical performance to new audiences
Our ‘Why’
In the words of American author Simon Sinek, ‘what you do proves what you believe’.
Valkyrie Productions exists because we believe in the relevance and beauty of classical music, and honor the skill it requires to perform. We believe that storytelling is the oldest bridge between people, emotions, and ideas, and is still the most immediate way for humanity to see itself. We believe that history is memory, and historic spaces are worth remembering. More than anything, we believe in supporting the passion, drive, and dedication of young artists as they step onto the stage and into a story so that audiences can escape, for a short time anyway, into laughter, tears, memory, and the experience of being completely human.
Our Director
Meghan Thomson is an entrepreneur and lyric soprano from Rhode Island. She is an alumnus of the Manhattan School of Music, and received her BA in classical performance from the Royal College of London. In 2024, she managed, wrote, and performed in Pay No Heed - an original 90 minute performance based on the history and folklore of coastal RI that premiered to sold out audiences in October of 2024. Three months later, Meghan founded Valkyrie Productions with a passion for storytelling, collaborating with young artists, and thinking outside the box. She is incredibly excited to dive into Valkyrie’s debut season, and will simultaneously pursue a masters degree at Carnegie Mellon in the Fall.
When not playing the piano, writing, or running email interference, you can find Meg listening to bluegrass, cooking Italian food, and traveling with her family.
